What if the most powerful leaders are not those who start at the top, but those who start by serving?
At the Journeys of Inspiration Launch and Leadership Exchange Session, this truth came alive. The room was filled with stories that reminded us of something simple but powerful. Across the world, ordinary people step forward in extraordinary moments. They rebuild communities after disasters. They support refugees. They stand for human rights, peace, and climate action.
And often, they start as volunteers.

The Moment That Stood Out
The session highlighted a powerful idea. Leadership is not about position. It is about action.
From youth volunteers in Africa helping heal divisions after political violence, to those extending health services to remote communities, the stories captured in the Journeys of Inspiration photobook showed one thing clearly. Real change begins with people who choose to serve.
As the United Nations advances its UN 2.0 vision, focused on innovation, data, and the future, the message remains grounded. Change is powered by people. Volunteerism is the bridge between global goals and real community impact.

Enkare in the Room
Enkare Oltau Foundation was proud to be part of this important conversation.
Our core team attended the session, engaging in discussions around the future of volunteerism and its role in shaping communities. Even more powerful was seeing our volunteers actively serve as ushers during the event, embodying the very spirit of service being discussed.
This was not just attendance. It was participation. It was living the message.

What We Took Away
The call to action from the session was clear and timely:
- Recognize volunteerism more fully
- Support it more deliberately
- Measure it more credibly
- Integrate it more firmly into peace and development work
These are not just ideas. They are directions for building stronger communities and more inclusive systems.

Bring It Home
Volunteerism is not a side activity. It is a foundation for leadership, development, and transformation.
At Enkare, we see this every day. In our programs, in our communities, and in the lives of young people who step forward to serve and, in the process, discover their own potential.
The question is simple.
What role will you play?
